Numerical Equivalents? Blackberry Users Don't Need Them

Some toll free phone number subscribers are reluctant to only advertise their vanity numbers--a catchy phrase or word instead of a string of numbers--because some cellular phone systems don't have keys that line the letters up with the numerical equivalent in the same way that traditional phones match up.

And until all cellular phones match numbers and letters up in the standard way, it may indeed be a good idea to post the numerical toll free number along with the vanity number in ads and on business cards.

But if you are advertising a vanity number, don't fret about callers using a Blackberry—they can call your vanity number with no trouble at all. To call a vanity toll free number from a Blackberry, a caller just has to type the phone number onto the screen using the shift key then hit the call (send) button and the connection will be made to the toll free phone number.

Catchy vanity numbers are a very effective marketing device—they are more memorable than standard numbers and they can instantly help establish a company name or brand image (think 1-800-GOT-JUNK, 1-800-STARBUCKS or 1-800-AUTHORS).

Custom toll free phone numbers are a boon to business. To research available toll free numbers and custom vanity options, go to Tollfreenumber.ORG and also check out Chooseanumber.com.
