The Scoop on Toll Free

With toll free, all features related to regular a phone number (caller ID, voicemail, call forwarding etc.) remain available for use.
When a customer dials a toll free number. the service database routes the calls to the appropriate connection and records the call for billing. Toll free area codes 800, 888, 877, and 866 work in the United States and Canada. Additional area codes (855, 844, 833 are being held in reserve by the FCC for future release.
