The four available toll free area codes—800, 888, 877, and 866 are considered toll free throughout the United States and Canada. Subscribers in New York, Florida, California—or any other state--can obtain any of the four area codes for their toll free use. Those area codes are not used for standard phone service anywhere in North America.
