Grace of Good is a church based south Florida and we thought it would be a good idea to tell their story because they are a non-profit. You don’t have to be a literal business making tons of money to get a toll free number!

Gary Straub and his wife Danielle are happy to talk about their experience because it is unique. They wanted a toll free number to use as an information and prayer line. “So, no one answers?” we ask. “No, no one answers. We have an extension for directions to the church, special events menu, and prayer extension” says Gary. We ask how it works and he said that people call in for free and press 463 to hear a prayer. They record a new one daily, telling people to give thanks for what they have, to keep the faith, know their strengths – you name it! “And people can leave us messages. Sometimes they do, just giving us a thanks.”

So, why the toll free number? “We thought it would cost too much but one of our friends that we helped out in a hard time, told us to think about the people that can’t afford a cell phone or the internet and still our prayers. He said we could get ‘the haves’ to help the have-nots by donating for the phone bill. What plan are we on now?” he asks Danielle. She pauses and thinks before saying they must already be using the one with over one thousand minutes. “It’s only $40 a month. We had to stop people from giving!” he says with a smile. Why stop people from giving?? “You know, they think we needed hundreds of dollars each month for it so $5, $10, $20 donations spread out from our community and we had way too much!”

I think he’s trying to say that our service is too good of a deal – what do you think?
