Toll Free Number .Org Features and Capabilities
Tollfreenumber.ORG offers toll-free phone numbers that work with a variety of features. Any feature you can get on your telephone line will work in conjunction with your Tollfreenumber.ORG phone number.
Since toll free numbers are piggy-backed on top of your existing phone line any features you currently subscribe to will continue to work just like normal.
These features include:
- Distinctive Ring – This feature is available from your local phone company and some cell phone companies like Sprint/Nextel. This feature makes your phone ring differently when people call your 1-800 phone number from Tollfreenumber.ORG. This is accomplished by simply getting an additional “virtual number” from your phone company; it rings to your existing telephone, with a different ringtone.
- Caller ID unblock – This is one of the best features included with our toll free numbers. We automatically unblock virtually all of the available Caller ID’s before the call reaches your phone. This happens instantaneously and allows you to see the phone number of everyone that calls you, even if they are calling from a blocked phone number.
- Caller ID with Name – If the name is available it will also show up on your caller ID. The name is retrieved from the local phone companies or detected by your cell phone when it rings. Just like normal.
- Call Waiting – Your toll free number will be able to handle an unlimited number of calls at the same time. The only limitations would be on the phones you are answering the calls on. If you have call waiting, you’ll hear the beep and be able to take two calls at once.
- Voicemail – If you have an answering machine or a voicemail box and you don’t answer the call when it rings then those will normally answer the call for you. We can give you a dedicated voicemail box to use with your toll free numbers, but then, ALL of your calls will ring straight into this voicemail box and not to your line first. So if you actually want to answer ANY of your calls, then you will need to use your own answering machine or voicemail.
- Call Transfer – If your telephone line or cell phone has the ability to do call transfer, then you can use this feature with your Tollfreenumber.ORG phone number. Most cell phones can not do this but most landline phone companies have this capability.
- Enhanced Call Forwarding – This is available through your local phone company and typically allows you the extra options of having your calls forward on to phone after phone trying to find someone to answer. Sometimes called ring-down lists.
- 3-Way Calling – If you get a call on your toll free number and you subscribe to 3-way calling from your phone company, then you can go right ahead and use it. It doesn’t affect your toll free service.
- Call Return – We provide you with the caller ID of virtually every call you receive so knowing who is calling you and returning that call has never been easier. There is no confusing *69’s to dial, you just look at your caller ID and call that last number.
- Do Not Disturb – Some telephones and cell phones have the ability to turn down the ringers or stop incoming calls for awhile. We suggest you use it like that. Otherwise, you can always change your ring-to number to make your toll free number no longer ring at the line you don’t want to be disturbed. But doing that is best for periods of time totaling more than a day or two.
- Anonymous Call Block – You can block certain phone numbers or geographic locations from calling you. You can even block payphones since there is a 53 cent surcharge attached to each incoming call from a payphone as mandated by law.
- Repeat Dialing – This is really for outbound calling and doesn’t really affect your toll free services. Any outbound dialing you do will not count as part of your toll free number.
- 800 Number Show on Caller ID – You can only do this if you have the capability to manage your own caller ID for outbound calls. Some phone companies can change your caller ID for you, but you’d have to ask them for the feature to be added onto your ring-to phone number.
- International & Directory Assistance – There are a number of toll free 1-800 phone directories, we have one at https://tollfreenumber.org/directory/ that you can submit yourself to. AT&T has one of the largest since they run the popular 800-555-1212 directory assistance phone number. You can contact them to add yourself in, it usually costs about $25 last we heard.
- Call Hunt – This is available through your local phone company and typically allows you the extra options of having your calls forward on to phone after phone trying to find someone to answer. Sometimes called ring-down lists.
- Ring Lists – This is available through your local phone company and typically allows you the extra options of having your calls forward on to phone after phone trying to find someone to answer. Sometimes called ring-down lists.
- Works with Vonage – Tollfreenumber.ORG works very well with the Vonage phone service. You can have your toll free number ring right to any of your USA vonage phone numbers. Our toll free rates are cheaper and I don’t think Vonage would dispute that ours are more reliable, with 100% uptime in almost every case.
- Click-to-Call – If you use click to call software on your website or in your emails, you should be able to have that call ring right onto your Tollfreenumber.ORG phone number. It’s so simple!
- Online Account – We give you complete online account access 24 hours a day of course. You can manage your payments, view your call history and sort and download databases of all your callers. What a great way to make your personalized lead lists.
- Fax Line – Your toll free number can ring ring to your fax machines phone number. People can call your toll free number and send you faxes just like normal. If you don’t want to use your own fax machine, we can provide you with a virtual Fax to eMail. It sends your faxes paperlessly to an email address in a TIF file so you can view it just like a picture.
- Virtual Number – Your toll free number is basically like a virtual number so you can have it ring to any phone in the United States. That includes VoIP phones, cell phones, landline phones, virtual phone numbers, pagers, and everywhere else.
- Add a Line – We have generous multiline discounts too where we give you up 75% off the maintenance fee for your second and third toll free numbers you register with Tollfreenumber.ORG.
- SoftPhone Compatible – Your toll free numbers can even ring to your softphone.
- SIP – If you have it, then you know what SIP is and your toll free number worked with it as long as it’s ringing to a standard telephone number.
