Here is an interesting report...
(1/24/06 - KTRK/CONROE, TX) - A Conroe woman thought she was dialing the Better Business Bureau, but got a phone sex line instead.
Joanne Lassater dialed a number she though was to the Better Business Bureau, but quickly hung up after realizing it was the wrong number. Lassater got the number from a phone book published by Conroe's Consolidated Communications. The BBB said because of a mix-up, their new number was not published in the 2005 phone book.
"That toll free number, unbeknownst to us, got sold by our long distance carrier to another carrier who made it a phone sex line," said Carol Ritter with the Better Business Bureau.
Consolidated Communications says the correct BBB number, 1-877-468-9222, will be in the new phone book coming out next month. |
