The lowest cost monthly is $40.00, not including tax and it gives you some nice features and 100 minutes of usage. Larger plans are also available but pay-by-minute plans are not. When you’ve reached 75% of your allotted usage, you will receive notification and must buy more minutes for usage to continue. Calling area is on a number-by-number basis depending on who else is using the number you choose; sometimes a nationwide area is available.

The toll free can ring to any phone number. Unless you pay for the “portable” option, you will not own the number and transfers are only available on a case by case basis, generally at a high cost.

PROS: Premium numbers available. Customer service friendly and knowledgeable. Easy to get in touch with. Lots of features.

CONS: Limited selection and extraneous cost for an owned number. Shared use numbers cannot be owned. Third party service provider means you pay two companies each month vastly increasing your cost. Inconvenient “75%” rule makes it difficult to keep service flowing without constantly having to monitor your usage.
