Find Your Inspiration

Thomas Edison once said, “Success is 10 percent inspiration and 90 percent perspiration.” And for most people that’s true.Everyone knows someone that is absolutely brimming with inspiration all of the time but who can never seem to follow through on any of their brilliant ideas. Likewise we all know the type of person that works hard and and perseveres no matter what obstacles come their way. That is, until they hit a problem they can’t out-think and end up walking away frustrated. Often times the answer is something simple that’s been overlooked. If only they had been able to “think outside of the box,” so to speak. Very rarely are people able to combine these two skills together but when they do, they have the power to change the world – or at least start up a successful business. At Tollfreenumber.ORG our goal is to help you do just that and so we’ve complied a short list of tips to can help you find your inspiration.
-
Relax – Studies have shown that people are most creative when relaxed. This occurs most frequently when going to sleep, waking up, showering, or walking. When engaging in these activities the mind is more open and allows thoughts to flow more freely. It can be hard to shut out all of your worries and plans when you’re constantly working. Take a break. Go for a walk around the block. Let your mind take 5. You may just find the inspiration you needed.
-
Change your surroundings – Staring at a your computer screen all day isn’t very inspiring. Sometimes changing your surroundings can do wonders for your thinking and this actually ties in with tip #1; take a walk you and change your surroundings at the same time. Some people love the hustle-and-bustle of city streets while others prefer the calm quiet of a park or garden. Whatever your preference, make a change even if it’s only for 5 or 10 minutes.
-
Talk to others – No company was built by one person alone. That may sound controversial but it’s not. Every entrepreneur has been influenced by and gotten ideas from others. Sometimes it’s just something someone said that can trigger an idea. It’s really that simple. Take your ideas and bounce them off of your friends and family. See what they think. What would they do? Is there anything they would change? What advice can they offer?
-
Read – Reading is on the decline. We’re not talking about the reading you do on Facebook, Twitter, or texting. We’re talking about good old-fashioned reading. Read the news. Read books. Read magazines. The more you read the more you’ll learn and not only will your vocabulary increase but you’ll begin to think differently – more analytically. The more information you absorb the more you’ll have at your disposal to help create. If you have a concept, research it. See what’s been done before so that you don’t make the same mistakes that others made. With the internet literally at our fingertips at any given moment we have no excuse not to learn something new each and every day.
