Trustworthy Businesses

You likely do it almost every day… Trust a business. You go to the grocery store, restaurants, get gas, buy clothes, buy snacks, shop online, etc. You’re not only trusting the retailer but also the company or companies that produce what you’re buying – whether it be a product or a service. We tend to rely on government regulation and good ol’ fashioned politeness when we assume that a company is legitimate. Short of seeing any huge red flags, we put our trust in companies without doing any real research on them. In general this strategy works fine since no immediate problems arise from those we do business with. But, if we wanted to spend the time to figure out who we give our money to and if they have our best interest at heart, we can.
Search blogs posts, social media pages, interviews by owners and workers, and don’t be afraid to get in touch directly. Ask the hard questions and see what they have to say. If they back off or don’t want to tell you something, you know that’s a red flag. So many people try to get information from businesses by lying about what they really want to know. How many times have you been to a restaurant and heard someone ask the waiter if a particular ingredient is used in the dish they want only to double check by saying, “I ask because I’m allergic”. It’s okay not to be allergic. Ask what you want to ask and expect that you get an honest response. Don’t be afraid.
